Police have released the names of two people that were killed in a crash in Armstrong County on Friday afternoon. Thomas Lowell Dean, 86, of Daytona, PA, and Jacob Adam, 32, of Ford City, were both fatally injured when the vehicle Dean was driving crossed the double yellow line and struck Iceman’s car head-on.
A man was critically injured after he crashed his motorcycle near the intersection of 144th and Franklin streets early Saturday morning, police say. Police arrived at the scene of the crash around 12:30 a.m. Police said they believe the man was under the influence of alcohol and may have been speeding.

Fire officials said a mother who is clinging to life after losing two of her own children in a house fire did everything she could to save them. Before 11Alive left the scene on Valley Road in Jackson, Georgia, investigators said they believe the fire began with an electrical malfunction from an outlet in the hallway. It ultimately spread, destroying the living room, the kitchen and even the car in the carport.
Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a report of structure fire at 13307 E Bitterroot Ln in the Elk Ridge Heights neighborhood Friday evening. Firefighters say everyone made it out safely. When they arrived, they found a large amount of fire coming from the 3 car attached garage. Because of their quick work, the fire was under control within minutes.
Two kids were killed and their mother seriously burned in a house fire in Butts County on Friday. The sheriff told Channel 2 Action News that they got a call around 2:30 p.m. about the fire at the home on the corner of Valley Road and Oak Street.

A man is in critical condition following a multiple-vehicle crash in south Phoenix Saturday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Phoenix fire said the crash involved three vehicles near 23rd and Southern avenues. A 35-year-old male was transported in extremely critical condition to a local trauma facility, according to Phoenix fire.
School officials are asking parents to talk to their children, after a student brought a knife to an Anne Arundel County elementary school. In a letter sent to parents, the principal of Solley Elementary School, Jeffery Haynie, wrote "A student had showed a pocketknife to several other students on the bus on the way to the school Thursday morning.
Anniston: Police have taken a man into custody in relation with a Thursday homicide in the city, according to the department. Damien Curry, 23, from Munford, Ala. was arrested on Friday. Police have charged Curry with Murder in the death of 22-year-old Zondrick Foster.
York: County coroner has been called to a shooting in the city. According to york county dispatchers, the call came in at 3:51 a.m. Saturday in the first block of North West Street

A crash on I-95 southbound near exit 28 has the traffic slowed for about an exit
A jury has convicted a Des Moines resident of murder in the shooting death of a man during a planned drug deal in the city's Beaverdale neighborhood. The Des Moines Register reports a jury Friday found 26-year-old Larry Deandre Ratliff Jr. guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of 36-year-old Antonio Quinn. He also was convicted of attempting to commit murder in the shooting of Quinn's cousin, 33-year-old Michael Allen James Jr. He suffered an arm wound.
Tulsa: police responded to an unresponsive man near Riverside Drive and 91st Street just west of a homeless camp on Friday night. The victim was in the camp when the suspect came to get some of his things. According to police, a struggle ensued as the victim thought that the suspect was trying to steal his things, and the victim fell to the ground and was unresponsive.

Portland: police responded to a shooting that left one man injured Friday night. Officers responded to Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Morgan Street at 6:45 p.m. on several reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they located a crime scene and evidence of gunfire
One person was pronounced dead after a fatal three-car crash near south Charlotte. The wreck happened at the intersection of Clanton Road and South Boulevard around 11:50 p.m. Friday night. Both roads were shut down in both directions as officials worked to clear the scene.
Firefighters are battling a house fire that broke out in the 1900 block of Wesleyan Road in Dayton Saturday morning. Crews were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. and reported the house was fully engulfed in smoke and flames, according to initial reports.

Police say the 30-year-old man was walking along West 103rd Street and Manhattan Avenue around 7 p.m. when he heard shots ring out. He was shot once in his left ear as he ran to the area of West 97th Street and Central Park West.
A teenage girl shot earlier this week has died from her injuries, Kansas City police said Friday. Alexis Mitchell, 16, was shot Wednesday night in the 7900 block of Manchester Avenue. Authorities said detectives have a person of interest in custody.
The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a 24-year-old man for the April 2017 death of a Belleville toddler. Sources close to the investigation say the man who shot and killed the 21-year-old had a concealed carry permit.
A Marion County jury has delivered a verdict in a wrongful death lawsuit trial in which a man accused his son of murdering 68-year-old Shirley Carter. No criminal charges were ever filed in the case. Several crews were busy on Friday putting out grass fires in Okfuskee County. A semi truck got a flat tire and sparked for several miles, causing the fires just south of Weleetka. Crews believe this is just the beginning. An Emergency Management official says the conditions are ripe for further grass fires this season.

Bethany Stevens father went looking for her Thursday night. When he found his daughter, investigators said the 22-year-old's two pit bulls Tonka and Pac-Man were standing guard over her body. Police say Stevens was found dead in the woods after being mauled to death by the dogs.

A elementary school-age boy was approached by a man between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of South West Street, according to reports filed at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday.
Detroit: police are investigating a case of an infant girl who apparently died in her crib early Friday morning. The death does not appear at first glance to be suspicious, although no official determination has yet been made, Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski said. The mother of the 3-month-old baby told investigators she went to check on her at 2:30 a.m. Friday and found her unresponsive in their home in the 12000 block of Westwood, near Evergreen and Plymouth on Detroit’s west side, Donakowski said.
A suspect is in custody after a double murder in northeast Fresno and we are learning more about what lead to the deaths of 21-year-old Brennen Fairhead and 21-year-old Scott Gaffney of Fresno. Fresno Police questioned murder suspect Gary Perry for hours at police headquarters. They still aren't sure what the motive was for these killings, but say Perry told them he shot and killed two young men who were his friends.
Little Rock: Man, 18, arrested in threat to school. An 18-year-old is accused of threatening to shoot up a school in central Arkansas earlier this week, police said.
A Lafayette woman will spend time in jail for possession of methamphetamine. Police say on Nov. 15, 2016 an SUV was pulled over on Veterans Memorial Parkway for failing to signal a turn. The SUV also was displaying plates that didn't match the vehicle.

North Dakota Highway Patrol says heavy snowfall covered the roads when a Chevy Impala, driven by Glen Maurer, 88, side swiped an eastbound Nissan Murano, driven by Michael Weigelt, 61, on I-94 near mile marker 343.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what officials say is a drug-related homicide in Pensacola. Major Andrew Hobbs with ECSO told News 5 that deputies got a call around 4:30 p.m. Friday about an adult male on the side of the road at 4600 Jackson Street.
A man and a woman have died in a house fire in Harvey. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd said responders were called to a fire in the 700 block of Grefer Drive in Harvey about 4:40 p.m. The caller said two people were possibly inside the home.
A man accused of fatally stabbing a South Bay resident whose body was discovered inside a barrel floating near the surface of San Diego Bay pleaded not guilty Friday to a murder charge. Timothy John Cook, 52, is accused in the death of 28-year-old Omar Medina. Prosecutors said the victim was stabbed 66 times.
A woman in her 70s was hit and killed by a car early Friday morning in Redmond, according to police. The woman was jaywalking in the 11400 block of Avondale Road NE when she was hit, police said.

Cleveland: Police are investigating an accident that has taken the life of at least one person on Friday night. A van went off the roadway, struck a utility pole, then flipped over near the corner of Woodland and Orange.
A burglary suspect was hospitalized in unknown condition after an officer-involved shooting Friday afternoon in West Covina, authorities said. No West Covina police department officers were harmed in the incident, which occurred about 1:40 p.m. in the area of Glendora and Cameron avenues, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
A bicyclist died after being struck by a SUV that drove away from the crash Thursday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. The bicyclist, a 46-year-old man, was struck from behind about 5:30 p.m. by a 2009 Saturn Outlook headed east in 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, Chicago Police said.

Police believe a group of juveniles were involved in several armed robberies in the D.C. area. The first robbery took place on December 14 around 11:35 p.m. at Blair Road and New Hampshire Avenue, NW. According to DC police, three suspects robbed a man at gunpoint, taking his backpack and cellphone. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark sedan.
Firefighters are battling a fire at a junkyard in Otay Mesa. The fire broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Heritage Road, according to a spokesperson from San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Orange County: Student with a gun on the campus of Wekiva High School was arrested on Friday, officials said. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the 17-year-old will be charged with possession of a firearm on school campus. According to an Orange Connect call, a student was seen on video with a weapon on campus and the situation was reported to school staff by other students.

A man has been charged with robbing one store, trying to rob another store and then leading police on a chase last week in west suburban Aurora. Newport News Police say they received a call at 8:37 a.m. about a fight in the 800 block of Forrest Drive. As officers were responding to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
Delaware State Police are investigating an incident where they said a trooper was dragged by a vehicle, forcing him to fatally shoot the suspect. The 30-year-old suspect later died from his injuries at a local hospital.

Delaware State Police say a trooper has shot and killed a man during a traffic stop. Spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz says in a news release that a trooper tried to perform a traffic stop Friday afternoon in Wilmington and was dragged by the suspect's vehicle. The trooper then shot the 30-year-old suspect, who later died at a hospital. Authorities have not released the name of the suspect, who is from Wilmington.
The man found guilty of shooting up a Pennsylvania Walmart parking lot has been sentenced to more than 100 years in prison, according to WNEP. Scott Sargent walked out of his sentencing stone-faced after being convicted of multiple charges, including the attempted murder of five police officers.

A 75-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a car Friday evening. According to Sgt. Clint Bobrowski with the Layton Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:15 PM near 737 North Main St. in Layton.
The Calhoun County coroner has identified Zondrick Foster, 22, as the victim of a homicide in Anniston December 14. The shooting occurred in a parking lot of a gas station at the intersection of Front Street and Chestnut Street. Foster was pronounced dead at the scene.
