A pregnant woman on her way to a local hospital to be medically induced to give birth was killed Monday morning when her vehicle slid on black ice and crashed off U.S. Route 2 in Skowhegan. Baby was delivered by emergency Caesarean section at Redington-Fairview General Hospital following the crash. Bucknam said the baby was in critical condition about noon Monday and was later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where hospital officials would not provide any information about the baby

A man from Supai Village was sentenced Monday to one year in prison for his guilty plea to a charge of assaulting a federal officer. Herbert Dini II acknowledged in his November plea hearing that he assaulted a Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer by grabbing his vest, swinging fists at him and injuring the officer's hand during an escape attempt.

Rogers police and the FBI on Saturday arrested four people accused of running a prostitution run involving a teenage girl. The news station reported that authorities searched a home at 402 E. Necessary Road and arrested Corey Glenn, 42; Christopher Haynes, 36; Savannah Schmid, 23; and Diana Hernandez, 25, on felony counts of trafficking of persons.

Two men wounded in Sunday Oakland shootings
At least one person was killed in a crash Monday morning in Humphreys County. The crash happened before 9 a.m. in the 4800 block of Clydeton Road.
A man charged with kidnapping, raping and killing a Tennessee nursing student could plead guilty in the case. Judge C. Creed McGinley has given prosecutors and lawyers for John Dylan Adams a Monday deadline to reach an agreement that would let him avoid trial in the death of Holly Bobo. A hearing is scheduled in Savannah, Tennessee. If a plea agreement has not been reached, McGinley has said Adams will go to trial, scheduled for May 29.
Asheville police said two men were arrested and drugs and weapons were seized at the end of a two-month investigation into crack cocaine sales. The Asheville Police Department said its Drug Suppression and Housing Units conducted a search warrant on January 12 at an apartment on Camby Street

Authorities have arrested a suspect in a shooting that killed two people and injured another in central Wisconsin. Officers responded to a 911 call early Saturday about a shooting in the city of Abbotsford. Officers found two people dead in the home. An injured victim was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive.

Two more men are set to go on trial Monday for allegedly shooting at deputies during a high-speed chase in March of 2016. Jeremy Robinson, 33, of Hutchins, and Juan Quiroga, 19, of Tyler, are standing trial after officials said they were two of three people who shot at deputies on March 21, 2016.

A male was found shot Sunday night on the East Bluff, but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said. Officers were called at 8:29 to a shooting in the area of West MacQueen Avenue and Broadway Street, according to Peoria police spokeswoman Amy Dotson.
Police are investigating after a teenager was shot multiple times in Homewood late Sunday night. According to police, an officer heard multiple shots fired near the intersection of Kelly Street and Brushton Avenue around 11:11 p.m. The officer also observed a black male running toward Hale Street while being followed by another black male.
