An Iowa lawmaker who pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated and possession of a dangerous weapon has been given probation. Court records say Rep. Francis "Chip" Baltimore, a Boone Republican, was sentenced Monday in Story County District Court. He was granted a deferred judgment, given a year of probation on both counts and ordered to pay fees and civil penalties of at least $1,500. Under a deferred judgment, the convictions can be wiped from Baltimore's record if he successfully completes the terms of his probation.

Two northwest suburban teenage boys were charged with shooting at a group of other teenagers last year in a drive-by attack in west suburban Riverside. The 15-year-old from Hanover Park and the 17-year-old from Roselle set up a drug deal via Snapchat to meet dealers on Dec. 1, 2017, in a backyard in the 200 block of East Burlington Street in Riverside, according to a statement form Riverside police. They claimed that they wanted to buy marijuana but actually planned to rob the sellers of their cash during the purported drug deal.

An arrest has been made in a shooting in west Wichita earlier this week. A man was hurt, but expected to survive after someone shot him in the head in a grocery store parking lot at 135th St W and Maple early Monday morning. Investigators said they think the shooting happened during a drug deal.
Tuscaloosa police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Tuesday evening for a violation. Officers found Dale Lee Sudduth, 34, of Tuscaloosa, who is suspected in several recent business burglaries throughout Tuscaloosa inside the vehicle.

A man has been arrested for Tuesday's fatal shooting that left one man dead and another man hospitalized. The shooting, which occurred in the 1400 block of Carousel Road late Tuesday afternoon, appears to be the result of a verbal dispute that escalated into violence.
Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for rape and aggravated assault, among other offenses, in Port Richmond. Hasan Harold, of Napa Street, was charged in connection with the incident that reportedly occurred on Tuesday, February 20 on the 3000 block of Aramingo Avenue.

A man was struck and killed Tuesday night while he was walking on Muhlhauser Road just east International Boulevard in West Chester Twp. Township spokesperson Barb Wilson said the man was walking on the side of the road when he was struck at around 11 p.m. The driver stayed on the scene and talked with police, she said.
