Baton Rouge: A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The driver who caused the crash is wanted by police. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Derrick Dewayne Gardner, 42, of Baker, was hit Thanksgiving Day at roughly 4:30 p.m. It happened in the 5800 block of Evangeline Street.
Raleigh: One man is dead after a car slammed into a house in downtown Raleigh early on Friday, according to Raleigh police. The crash happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 800 block of E. Lenoir Street. Police said the car slammed into a home on the street that had one adult male and three kids inside. The man inside the home was killed, but the three children were not harmed.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the Nov. 7 shooting near Portland State University that killed a 21-year-old man. Portland Police identified the suspects as 19-year-old Nicholas L. Hannan and 26-year-old David M. Brown.

One man is injured and a dog is dead after a fire at a home in Lake County on Thursday. The fire occurred on Bank Street in Painesville. According to family members, the man sustained injuries after trying to rescue the dog from the burning home.

Davie County: One person has died after a crash in Davie County Thursday morning. It happened on Interstate 40 eastbound near Farmington Road around 8:00 a.m.
Three people were shot late Wednesday night during a fight in the parking lot of Fayetteville’s Cross Creek Mall, according to police. Fayetteville police responded around midnight to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after three people showed up with gunshot wounds. The three were shot during an earlier fight in the mall’s parking lot.

Douglasville: According to police, a store clerk shot a would-be robber at a gas station located on the 6500 block of Bankhead Highway. The store clerk called 911 and advised that a suspect had pointed a handgun at him. The store clerk was able to retrieve his own gun and shot the suspect.

An Oakland County, MI, Sheriff's deputy was killed while deploying spikes during a pursuit early Thursday morning in Brandon Township.

The death of a man Wednesday night in northwest Indiana has been ruled a homicide. Jaymel D. Patterson, 20, was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. in the 800 block of East 45th Avenue in Gary, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. He lived on the same block.

Nashville: An investigation is underway for a crash on Murfreesboro Pike and Hamilton Church Road in South Nashville. It happened just before 4:00 a.m. According to Metro Police dispatchers, the crash occurred during a police pursuit from Lavergne.
The Bronx: Police are searching for two men wanted in connection with a homicide last week. As News 12 has reported, the shooting happened on Nov. 11 just after 1 a.m. on the corner of 179th St. and Lafontaine Avenue. Authorities say they found Angel Perez lying on the ground with a bullet wound to the back.
