A shooting occurred at 10XX N Delaware Ave, in a local casino parking lot, at approximately 12:03 PM. A 37-year-old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the lower legs and was transported by police to Jefferson Hospital in Center City, where he is currently in critical condition. A stabbing took place around 5:00 a.m. near the 4700 block of D Street. A 20-year-old female sustained a stab wound to the neck and arrived at St. Christopher’s Hospital by private vehicle.

On October 16, 2024, at 8:38 PM, officers from the 25th District responded to a call reporting a "Person with a Gun" at a restaurant located on the 800 block of W. Erie Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male, later identified as 34-year-old Reginald Jones, had suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported by private ambulance to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:53 PM. Preliminary investigations reveal that the decedent was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown male prior to the shooting.
